Stained Glass Memorial Orange Tree of Life
This is a one of a kind piece with two unique trees, one on each side of the red orange stained glass memorial art disc. There is a different tree on each side of the glass, and when seen backlit by the sun, the branches and tree trunks show through as shadows that give a three dimensional affect.
I was excited to build this piece! It glowed with amazing warm surprising light. I used a beautiful red and orange streaky glass for a sunset sky, rich colour found here on the west coast in the early evening as a forewarning of a spectacular day of sun and wind. The silver and copper branches are twisty and textured, lots of detail that is best viewed in person.
This particular stained glass memorial orange tree of life disc is a memorial to the life of a wonderful woman,
 ” who lost her 8 year battle with cancer.  She was one of the most generous and kind people. She fought so very hard, always with a smile on her face and with such grace. She always made everyone around her feel special and cared for. She truly was an angel on earth. She has 3 beautiful children who are all wonderful young adults who loved her so dearly. Her husband is an amazing father and was such a supportive, loving husband. The world has a very large void without her. However, her light and spirit will live on in all of those that knew her.”
She and her husband and daughter came to a 50th Birthday years ago which was a Gilligan’s Island Theme. Instead of the usual “characters” they decided to embrace other natural island inhabitants and came as butterflies. It was the perfect costume for them and their personalities. They are all social butterflies who love to entertain and make people happy. I hope this gives you a little more insight into who she was and how dearly she will be missed. “
The tree comes with a butterfly to represent her social butterfly aspect and her connection to Florida. Orange was her favorite colour.
